Twitter dying is 1. Good for my mental health but 2. Bad for my ability to keep up with news and current information from people surviving regimes around the world and cultural arguments from around the world and peoples lives from around the world.
Love when ppl condescendingly say ‘just stop using twitter!’ like me and hundreds of other self employed creatives don’t rely on traffic and revenue from these sites, like this isnt going to harm a huge subset of people but “lol just stop using twitter lol :)”
My favourite thing about the latest Twitter meltdown is all the artists reanimating their dead Tumblr accounts today and immediately being greeted with hundreds of notes because even a Tumblr account they literally have not posted to in 3–5 years has more active and engaged followers than the Twitter account that they’ve been updating daily.
